A Social Outreach Program was organized by the Research Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture on 10th July, 2024, students from the III BSc. Aquaculture program, under the guidance of Dr. Bindhi S. Kumar conducted a workshop on Value Addition in Fish for the Fisherwomen of Kunjithai. The students led a theory session, effectively explaining the value addition process, its significance and the potential economic benefits. The workshop was attended by 10 participants from the local community, who faced unemployment during the trawl bam period and relied on seasonal fishing for income. During the Session, the students demonstrated the process of making fish cutlets and the participants actively engaged in cleaning and cooking activities.
