The Department of Sports Science and Fitness Management and Physical Education at St. Albert’s College (Autonomous), Ernakulam, organized a one-day seminar titled “Wellness Through Siddha, Ayurveda & Kalari: Holistic Healing Approaches” to promote awareness about traditional Indian systems of medicine and their relevance in preventive healthcare as part of Albertian Knowledge Summit. The event began at 9:30 AM with an inaugural ceremony graced by Rev. Fr. Antony Thoppil (Chairman), Fr. Shine Pauly (Registrar), and Dr. Retina Cletus (Vice Principal), who addressed the gathering and shared their insights on the importance of holistic wellness. The welcome address was delivered by Assistant Professor Minitha Susan Joseph, and the vote of thanks was proposed by Assistant Professor Preethy K. Abraham. The technical sessions commenced with Dr. Sreekala M. P presenting on “The Healing Touch of Siddha Vaidyam: A Path to Wellness”, focusing on the foundations and health benefits of Siddha medicine. Following a tea break, Dr. Farshad K. H. led the second session titled “The Therapeutic Potential of Integrating Ayurveda and Yoga in Preventive Healthcare”, highlighting the integration of traditional practices in modern wellness strategies. After the lunch break, Dr. Benoy N. J spoke on “Mind Body Healing: Integrating Mental Wellness with Ayurveda”, addressing the psychological dimensions of Ayurvedic healing. The final session was handled by Dr. K.R. Kishore Raj on “Kalari Marma Therapy: Ancient Wisdom for Holistic Healing”, exploring the therapeutic techniques rooted in Kalari traditions. The seminar concluded with a valedictory session. The programme was convened by Mr. Anty T. J, Ms. Minitha Susan Joseph, and Ms. Preethy K. Abraham, with staff coordination by Ms. Anjana N.S, Ms. Stephy Sebastian, Ms. Swathi Thilakan, Ms. Meghna Murali, Ms. Mary Akshaya P. J, and Ms. Archana Joseph. Student coordinators Mr. Aroane Dynell Sequeira and Mr. Sonu Soby ensured the smooth execution of the event. The seminar proved to be an enriching experience, offering participants deep insights into India’s traditional health systems and their potential applications in today’s healthcare environment.
