The Department of Commerce and Research Centre, St. Albert’s College (Autonomous), Ernakulam, organized an Alumnus Talk on “Financial Stewardship and Vision in India’s Space Journey” on 1st August 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the Melano Hall. The session was conducted as part of the department’s initiative to connect current students with its distinguished alumni and expose them to diverse career opportunities and industry insights. The resource person for the talk was Mr. Femics George, Senior Assistant, Finance & Accounts Division, U.R. Rao Satellite Centre, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Bangalore. An alumnus of the Department of Commerce, Mr. Femics George shared his rich experiences in financial management within India’s space sector, highlighting the crucial role of fiscal discipline, strategic planning, and vision in achieving the nation’s space exploration goals. The event began with the Welcoming Address by Mrs. Rosalind Gonzaga, Head of the Department of Commerce and Research Centre, who warmly welcomed the gathering and set the context for the session. The programme was formally inaugurated by the Principal, Dr. Joseph Justin Rebello, who appreciated the department’s efforts in maintaining strong alumni relations and emphasised the importance of such interactive sessions in enhancing students’ career perspectives. The Keynote Address was delivered by Fr. Nibin Kuriakose, Assistant Manager, who commended Mr. Femics George’s achievements and inspired students to pursue their goals with dedication and perseverance. A notable highlight of the event was the presence of Mr. Femics George’s spouse, Mrs. Anjaly, who is professionally associated with the National Stock Exchange (NSE).
