The Department of Logistics Management at St. Albert’s College (Autonomous), Ernakulam, organized a seminar on the topic “Global Career Opportunity in Logistics” on 19th June 2025. The seminar aimed to provide students insights into international logistics career pathways and industry expectations in the global supply chain environment. The session began with a welcome address by Neha Suresh, (Semester 5) followed by inaugural address by principal Dr. Joseph Justin Rebello, and presidential address by Rev. Dr. Antony Thoppil (Manager & chairman). The keynote speaker for the session was Mr. Martino Ottimofiore, Vice President (Global)– Human Resources, Hellmann Logistics. With his extensive international experience, Mr. Ottimofiore shared valuable perspectives on global logistics trends, career opportunities, and the evolving skill sets required in the industry. The resource person was accompanied by Ms. Priya Krishna, (Regional HR), and Mr. Vikas Kumar, (Vice President) of Hellmann Logistics, whose presence added further value and industry perspective to the seminar. Mr. Ottimofiore delivered an enlightening session covering the following key areas: Overview of the global logistics and supply chain industry, Emerging markets and their demand for logistics professionals, Core competencies and qualifications required to thrive internationally, Technological transformations and digitalization in logistics, Career growth pathways and future skill development. The seminar helped the students gain a deeper understanding of the global landscape in logistics, including industry expectations and the competencies needed to build successful international careers. The session aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education, by enhancing the global employability skills of students. He also addressed the students' questions in an interactive Q&A segment, making the session highly engaging and informative The seminar concluded at 11:00 AM with a vote of thanks by the J Disha, student coordinator (M Voc, Semester 3), expressing gratitude to Mr. Martino Ottimofiore and accompanied persons, for their engaging session and to all participants for their enthusiastic involvement. A memento was handed over to Mr. Martino Ottimofiore by the Head of the Department of Logistics Management, as a token of appreciation for his insightful and inspiring session. The seminar was a great success and proved to be a stepping stone for students aspiring for global careers in logistics and supply chain management.
