The Department of Logistics conducted a seminar on Industrial Practices as part of the Deeksharambh 2025 program. The session aimed to expose students to real-world industrial operations, bridge the gap between academic knowledge and industry requirements, and help them understand current trends and expectations in the logistics sector. The seminar commenced with a welcome speech by Ms. Maria Ninsa, who introduced the speaker and highlighted the significance of industry-academia interaction. The welcome note emphasized the value of practical learning and the need for students to stay updated with industry developments. The talk was delivered by Ms. Olivia Veliyath, Human Resources, The cochin chamber of commerce and industry, a reputed organization in the Business sector. With vast experience in industrial operations, the speaker provided rich insights into logistics workflows, warehousing, transportation, and customer service. The Industrial Talk was highly beneficial for students, providing them with a deeper understanding of how logistics functions in the real world. It helped them relate their theoretical knowledge to practical scenarios and motivated them to stay curious, skillful, and career-focused. The session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Samuvel, who expressed gratitude to the speaker for sharing industry knowledge and guiding students toward future readiness. The student also thanked the department for organizing such a valuable session. A memento was handed over to Ms. Olivia Veliyath, by Ms. Jiya Benny, the Head of the Department of Logistics Management, as a token of appreciation for his insightful and inspiring session.
