On the 17th of July 2025, St. Albert’s College (Autonomous), Ernakulam, entered into a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Amar Saath Foundation, Ernakulam. The MoU, signed by Rev. Dr. Antony Thoppil, Chairman of St. Albert’s College, and Dr. Sudhakar Muthyala, Founder and Trustee of Amar Saath Foundation, marks the beginning of a purposeful collaboration aimed at bridging academic knowledge with grassroots social engagement. Amar Saath Foundation is a non-profit organization registered under REG NO: 382/IV/2023. It consists of professionals and committed individuals from various walks of life who work to uplift marginalized and migrant communities through sustainable and inclusive development initiatives. During the MoU signing, both parties stated that the primary purpose of the agreement was to foster collaboration in areas such as education, research, cultural engagement, and community service. They emphasized that the understanding would allow them to jointly conduct lectures, workshops, seminars, conferences, and outreach events on topics of mutual interest. These events would benefit not only the student community but also academic institutions, corporate sectors, and the broader society. The MoU also included plans to provide internship, on-the-job training, and volunteering opportunities to students of St. Albert’s College. Through such exposure, students will be able to engage directly with real-world challenges, especially those encountered by underrepresented and vulnerable communities. Additionally, Amar Saath Foundation agreed to deliver industry-relevant lectures and interact with students and faculty which would support the overall development of students and inspire them to approach their education with greater social sensitivity. Both institutions also proposed to organize events focused on sustainability, culture, and heritage, thereby nurturing a sense of responsibility and identity among students. The MoU explicitly stated that the collaboration would not constitute any employment relationship between the parties involved. Instead, each institution would remain independently responsible for its own personnel and associated activities. The terms of the agreement also included clauses related to confidentiality, indemnity, amendment procedures, and conflict resolution, thus ensuring legal and ethical clarity in all joint actions. This MoU will remain effective for one year from the date of signing and will be automatically renewed unless either party provides written notice for revision or termination. Representatives from both institutions expressed confidence that the partnership would inspire students to become socially conscious leaders, researchers, and citizens committed to inclusive progress.
