World Food Day 2025 The Food Day celebration was conducted by the MDC students of the Department of Chemistry with the theme “Complete and Healthy Meal Presentation.” on 16 October 2025. The programme aimed to promote nutritional awareness, encourage creative preparation of balanced meals, and inspire healthy eating practices among students. The entire class is divided into three groups. The Three teams participated in the event, each preparing a complete and wholesome meal comprising a main dish, side accompaniments, , and a healthy dessert. The teams also submitted a report based on the Dr. Vijay John Gerson welcomed the gathering. Food Chemistry students are from Economics and Commerce department. Faculties from those departments also present in this occasion. Rev. Fr. Genson Livera, Bursar St. Albert’s College served as the evaluator for the programme and assessed the meals based on taste, nutritional value, presentation, hygiene, creativity, and sustainability. All three teams performed exceptionally well, with meals showcasing thoughtful ingredient choices, aesthetic presentation, and health-conscious preparation. Team one presented a traditional balanced platter featuring Kappa, Chutney and black coffee, team two introduced fruit salad, while team three highlighted sandwich. The evaluator appreciated the students’ efforts and commended their awareness of healthy meal planning, indigenous food wisdom, and innovative preparation techniques. The Food Day celebration was an enriching experience for the students, fostering teamwork, culinary skills, and responsible dietary habits. The programme successfully combined knowledge, creativity, and practical learning, encouraging students to adopt and promote healthy eating in their daily lives.
