The inauguration of the domain Club and Association of the Dept. of Physics, St. Albert’s college (Autonomous), Ernakulam was held on 04-12-2025, at 9.00 a.m. at Melano Hall. The official ceremony began with a prayer by Ms. Keerthana (PG 1st year) followed by welcome address by Dr. Louie Frobel Head of the Dept. of Physics. The event was presided by Fr. Shine Pauly Kalathil, Asst. Manager and Registrar, St. Albert’s college (Autonomous), Ernakulam, who gave the presidential address. The Principal’s address was given by Vice

Principal Dr. Retina Cleetus. The chief guest for the day was Dr. Saji K. J., Associate professor, International school of Photonics, Cochin University of Science and Technology, who inaugurated the function and also gave the inaugural address. The official gathering concluded with the vote of thanks given by Dr. Lakshmi B, coordinator of the event.

This was followed by a deeply insightful talk by the invited speaker Dr. Saji K. J. on the topic “Why electron motion becomes restricted in low dimensional quantum structures”. The talk was very well received by the entire Physics community, specifically the students who came up with a lot of interesting questions to the speaker. The talk was followed by a discussion session. Dr. Louie Frobel, Head of the Dept. presented the speaker with a memento as a token of the love and gratitude of the Physics Dept. A short cultural programme followed, which showcased two dance events by the second year UG and first year PG students. The speaker handed over appreciations to the students who prepared the inaugural video and brochures for the event. The programme concluded at 11.00 a.m.
