The Research Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture conducted a Student Induction Program-Deeksharambh 2024 for the newly admitted first year students of the Department. This progamme, held from July 1st to July 5th, 2024, included students from B.Sc. Aquaculture - FYUGP, B.Sc. Industrial Fisheries – FYUGP, and M.Sc. Applied Fisheries and Aquaculture streams, in accordance with UGC guidelines. This event has facilitated new students acclimate to their peers, seniors and faculty members, easing the challenging transition from school to college life, especially given their diverse backgrounds. Upon completing the programme, students gained a clear understanding of the college, its facilities, rules and regulations, the course, the exam system, the Department and the expectations placed upon them. The Department invited three external resource persons from National Institute of Fish Post Harvest Technology and Training (NIFPHATT), Sacred Heart (Autonomous) College and an industry expert from STEM SYSTEMS Pvt. Ltd., Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies, Kochi, to provide insights into the life and career of future fisheries experts and professionals. The first day commenced with the Schola Brevis-2024, a prestigious gathering of all the newly admitted UG and PG students and their parents, marking the first step towards integrating them into Albertian life. The session concluded at 11. AM followed by tea and refreshment break. Subsequently, students and their parents visited the Aquaculture department. Dr. Vibin M., HoD of RDFA, extended a warm welcome to the parents and students. Dr. Bijoy V. M., Principal- in charge of St. Albert’s College (Autonomous), emphasized the importance of punctuality, discipline and the program itself to both students and parents. The statewide inauguration of FYUGP-Vijhanothsavam by the Honourable Chief Minister of Kerala was live-streamed in classrooms from 12 PM onwards. The second day sessions were entirely held within the Department. The day began with a welcome speech by Dr. Viji C.S., Dr. Vibin M. delivered the HoD’s message and the Principal-in Charge, who is also a faculty member of the department, inspired students with his motivational speech. Asst. professor Sivakumar G., concluded the session with a vote of thanks. The subsequent days covered all the aspects of SAGE. The coordinators of the programme were Dr. Bindhi S Kumar (Govt.
