The English Department of St. Albert's College (Autonomous), Ernakulam organized the second A. V. Vijayan Memorial Lecture on Teachers' Day, 5th September 2024. The lecture was organized at the Mellano Hall at 11:30 am. The faculty coordinators of the programme were Dr. Nisha Thomji Varghese and Dr. Sweetha Saji and the student coordinators were Ms. Riya Mariam Binu and Mr. Prathewsh L. The welcome address was given by the Head of the Department, Dr. Nisha Thomji Varghese, who also introduced Dr. A. V. Vijayan, a former faculty of the department. The lecture titled "Roots and Routes: The Winding Ways of Translation" was led by the Resource Person, Dr. Jyothimol P., Professor, Dept. of English, Baselius College, Kottayam. At, the end of the vibrant lecture which included poetry recitations of translated works and a detailed discussion on the notions surrounding ethics of translation, the UG and PG students interacted actively with the Resource Person. Dr. Sweetha Saji, Asst. Professor, Dept. of English proposed the vote of thanks. Over 65 students participated in the lecture. View Poster View Brochure
